Privacy Policy

What this site collects, what it does not, and what the advertising means in practice.

The short version

Information collected automatically

Like essentially every website, the hosting provider records standard server log data when a page is requested: IP address, browser type and version, referring page, and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to diagnose faults, and are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile of you.

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to that log data. The site is operated from Argentina, which means data you send simply by requesting a page may be processed on Cloudflare servers outside your own country.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful. It records things like which page you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, which browser and device you used, and which site or search sent you here.

Worth being straight about the tension here: the tools on this site are built specifically so that your files never reach a server, and then the site turns around and counts your visit with Google. Those are different things — the analytics sees that a page was viewed, never what you put into a tool — but if you would rather not be counted at all, the opt-out above works and nothing on the site degrades.

Cookies

The only cookies set on this site come from Google Analytics, described above. Nothing else — no advertising cookies, no personalisation, no cross-site tracking.

Two preferences are remembered on your device so the site behaves the way you left it: your light or dark theme, and your language if you pick one from the switcher. They are kept in your browser's own local storage rather than in a cookie, are never transmitted anywhere, and clearing your browsing data removes them.

Consent in the EU, UK and Switzerland

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this site runs Google Consent Mode v2, and both advertising storage and analytics storage are denied by default before anything loads. You can see this in the page source: the consent call runs ahead of every Google script.

This site does not serve advertising yet, so there is no advertising cookie to consent to. Analytics storage stays denied and nothing is written to your device — no cookie is set at all. Google Analytics still receives a signal that a page was loaded, without cookies and without anything that identifies you.

When advertising is switched on, a consent message will be shown on your first visit, nothing will be stored until you accept it, and you will be able to change or withdraw that choice at any time from the privacy settings link in that message.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Because this site holds no user accounts and no database of visitors, there is in practice very little to act on — most requests of this kind need to be directed to Google, which controls the analytics and advertising data.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. This site does not sell personal information. The opt-out links above are the way to stop collection.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes, the revised version is posted here with a new date at the bottom of the page. Material changes will be noted at the top.
